As children, many of us learn about the wondrous process by which a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly. In a similar way, metamorphosis is also indicative of the House of Mariposa.
We’re growing a family (business) tree.
Our founder, Ryan Pflasterer, has a background in the mixed-media arts, which encompasses anything from painting, illustration, printmaking and bookbinding, to music production and filmmaking—not to mention over 25 years of experience in the graphic design industry. But the talents of our curiously creative consortium extend throughout the Pflasterer family, and beyond. Whether we’re working together at home or partnering with others in our growing network of creative talent, collaboration is key to everything we do.
We’re cultivating generational creativity.
Mentoring young people is also a big part of what we do at the House of Mariposa. We like providing opportunities to exercise creativity while also discovering valuable skills like storytelling, design, photography, music, and editing, as well as practical things like planning and budgeting. The multifaceted nature of our work offers real-life experience for young people as it teaches creative problem solving, builds courage, and fosters compassion. They’re becoming adults right before our eyes. And this transformation can be a beautiful metamorphosis that continues fanning the flames of creativity in all of us!
